Born and raised in Vancouver, Alexander Thomas is a teacher and student of literature and religion. He has an undergraduate degree in Religious Studies from UBC and a M.A in English from the same institution, in which he wrote on the intersection between religion, mysticism and social transformation in the visionary poetics of William Blake.
Having recently emerged from the musty corridors of academia, Alex is hoping to find a more concrete way to apply and work through his abiding interest in the relationship between spiritual contemplation and activism, and the power of the religious imagination to envision a better world.
